# Google Gemini: credentials

Under Connections, category AI providers, you store a Google AI Studio API key so workspaces can use Gemini with your account.

**Google Gemini** lives under **Connections** in the **AI providers** category. The official third-party path is an **API key** from [Google AI Studio](https://aistudio.google.com). Google does not offer third-party OAuth for Gemini API access.

When you create a workspace you pick this connection. The platform writes the key into the workspace environment and starts the AI agent. Rules and skills are always installed.

You may choose only **one** Gemini account per workspace; you can combine it with accounts from other providers.

## Store an API key

1. Create a key in Google AI Studio under **Get API key**.
2. Open **Connections → Add connection → Google Gemini**.
3. Enter **Name**, **Slug**, and the **API key**.

The platform checks the key for free against the Gemini API models list.

## Use it in a workspace

1. When creating a workspace, select the Gemini connection under **AI credentials**.
2. After provisioning, `GEMINI_API_KEY` and `GOOGLE_API_KEY` are available.
