# Open Telekom Cloud: credentials

You create an access key in the OTC console, store it under Cloud accounts, and let MainPath create clusters and databases in your project.

Under [Cloud accounts]({{< relref "cloud-accounts" >}}) you store access keys for Open Telekom Cloud. MainPath uses them to create [Kubernetes clusters]({{< relref "kubernetes-integration" >}}) (CCE) and optional databases (RDS) in your project.

## Create an access key in the OTC console

1. Sign in to the [Open Telekom Cloud console](https://console.otc.t-systems.com/).
2. Open your username in the top right → **My Credentials**.
3. Go to **Access Keys** and click **Create Access Key**.
4. Copy the **Access Key** and **Secret Key**. The secret is shown only once.
5. Note the **domain name** of your IAM account and the **project name**, for example `eu-de` for the Germany region. Both appear under **My Credentials** next to the access keys.

The access keys must belong to a user who can create CCE clusters, networks, and RDS instances in that project.

## Add the account in MainPath

1. Open **Cloud accounts** and click **Add cloud account**.
2. Choose **Open Telekom Cloud**.
3. Enter a name, slug, and these values:

| Platform field | Source |
|---|---|
| Access Key | Access Key from My Credentials |
| Secret Key | Secret Key from the same dialog |
| Domain | IAM domain name of the account |
| Project | project name, often the same as the region, for example `eu-de` |
| Region | OTC region, `eu-de` (Germany) or `eu-nl` (Netherlands) |

4. Save. Then select the account when you create a cluster under **Kubernetes clusters**.
