Connections and services

Cursor: credentials

Under Connections, category AI providers, you store a Cursor dashboard API key, the official way to access the Cursor API.

On this page

Cursor lives under Connections in the AI providers category. The official third-party path is an API key from the Cursor dashboard. Cursor does not offer OAuth for workspace API access.

When you create a workspace you pick this connection. The platform writes the key into the workspace environment (CURSOR_API_KEY) and starts the AI agent. Rules and skills are always installed.

You may choose only one Cursor account per workspace; you can combine it with accounts from other providers.

Store an API key

  1. Create a key in the Cursor dashboard under Integrations or API Keys.
  2. Open Connections → Add connection → Cursor.
  3. Enter Name, Slug, and the API key.

The platform checks the key for free against GET https://api.cursor.com/v1/me. Invalid keys are rejected.

Use it in a workspace

  1. When creating a workspace, select the Cursor connection under AI credentials.
  2. After provisioning, CURSOR_API_KEY is available; code-server restarts with that environment.
